RE: Mandate of the Hon. Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship
Dear Sir,
In light of the the imminent danger to activists, and former employees of the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan, we ask that the Hon. Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship be given the mandate to demonstrate timely and substantive progress in meeting our government’s commitments regarding special immigration and humanitarian assistance programs by granting these people immediate refugee status.
Based on recommendations by the 45th Parliament’s Standing House Committee for Immigration regarding Hong Kong activists, we request that the Minister be given, as a top priority, the mandate to develop and implement a similar, if not more robust, extraordinary pathway out of Afghanistan.
Further, bearing in mind that non-believers, and apostates will be persecuted just as severely in neighbouring countries like Pakistan, and Iran as in Afghanistan, we request that Minister Fraser be given the mandate to develop and carry out direct transportation and settlement in Canada for non-believing, and apostate refugees.
Sincerely,
